Meet Our Staff
Mark C. Cooper, MD

Mark Cooper, MD graduated from the University of Virginia Medical School in 1997 with high honors. He then completed a three year family practice residency at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, AL during which time he was elected as chief resident. After residency, Dr. Cooper went on to complete an obstetrics fellowship and was blessed to provide maternity care and deliver babies for ten years in addition to starting his family practice here in Scottsboro.


He has practiced family medicine in Scottsboro for the past twenty-four years and sees all ages from infants to adults. He performs minor surgeries, cardiac stress tests, colonoscopies, and EGDs, in addition to providing primary care for his patients.


Dr. Cooper has previously been Chief of Staff twice at Highlands Medical Center, and is currently on staff at Highlands Medical Center in Scottsboro, AL.


He is a lifetime member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association and aspires to practice according to their “Christian Physician’s Oath”. He has been married to his wife, Leslie, for thirty-one years, and they have three sons, Crossan, Cole, and Curtis.


Outside of medicine, Dr. Cooper enjoys attending church, reading, gardening, hiking, playing tennis, and spending time with his family.

Jana Jackson, CRNP

Jana Jackson is a graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville where she received both her nursing undergraduate and graduate degrees. She comes with a background in pediatrics and internal medicine as well as clinical experience in family medicine, urgent care, and dermatology. She is a Certified Menopausal Practitioner and enjoys helping both men and women balance their hormones. Jana takes a holistic and integrative approach to helping her patients reach their health care goals. She also has research interests in understanding and treating the root cause of chronic conditions such as Fibromyalgia (Central Sensitization Syndrome). She enjoys painting, writing, martial arts, and anything outdoors. She is a mother of four and enjoys time with her family. Although she is a Colorado native, she loves the south and considers it her forever home.
